When Packing carburetors, and distributors, please be sure to pack all
carefully.  Bubble wrap will work for distributors, but is not really suitable for
carburetors unless you are very VERY careful.  If there is any room in the
box and the carbs start to roll around, they pop the "bubbles", and soon
there's no cushioning and the carbs are banging into each other causing
more damage.  Carbs are heavy, and newspaper and cardboard are the
best packing materials.  Again, if you use bubble wrap, please put a piece
of cardboard between the carbs so if they do roll about they won't bang into
each other.

PLEASE DO NOT USE PEANUTS

I really don't like peanuts.  Don't like using them for packing because, again,
carbs are heavy and they will break up and crush peanuts.  If the carbs are
in with the peanuts without any other protection, the peanuts will get down
into passageways.  If there is any fuel in the carbs (or fuel pump), it reacts
with the peanuts and makes a mess.  Just unpacked a box and the fuel
pump was covered in the sticky goo that was degraded peanuts.

PLEASE DO NOT USE PEANUTS
This is what happens
when peanuts and fuel
mix!
This is  (or was) a pair of Solexes
for restoration.  Two carbs and
some "air pillows"  The fourth side
of the box is in the same sorry
shape!
This is what happens to air
pillows when loosely packed with
carbs - and what can happen to
the carbs (see injector)
